our Company among the first three of the most successful companies of the field
as it shows constant signs of improvement. The Company is growing at a constant
and stable pace without any fluctuations; its policy is to attain expansion
through establishing profitable stores, through constantly updating existing
stores and through effective cost control. A great part of its development is
organic, i.e. it derives from its existing stores. This leads to a very
positive economic result.
Despite the fact that METRO
invests considerable funds every year in its organization and expansion (most
of the Company's stores are self-owned), reinvesting its high profits allows
the Company to avoid bank loans, while the number of payment days to suppliers
are among the very fewest in this market sector.
